HOW DOES THE BLEMISH REMOVAL SERVICE WORK?

Zoe Mizon has undergone intensive advanced training with the country's leading experts in advanced blemish removal, allowing her to gain the very best knowledge alongside her master's degree in skin, anatomy, and physiology. She works together with Kelsey, who is degree-trained in laser and light services and specialises in advanced electrolysis. Their knowledge together is unrivalled in these services.

All treatments are unique and tailored to suit each blemish, ensuring the very best results. Most blemishes are treated with a minute sterilised and disposable needle, which is applied lightly to the surface of your skin. A low, safe current produces a heating effect that, when applied to the skin blemish, causes the structure and its contents to coagulate. Your skin then begins the healing process, allowing the dead skin cells involved in the electrolysis process to rise to the surface and flake off, similar to how a tiny cut would heal. We also use the OVEO Pen, which creates an electronic arc of energy that cauterises the blemish to form a scab; this is very effective for smaller blemishes. We also have the option to use laser treatment; however, we strongly recommend a consultation prior to treatment so we can advise on the best method for successful blemish removal.

IS THIS PAINFUL?

With Blemish Removal, there are different methods used and different types of probes or machines to choose from which are all consist of minimal pain or discomfort. When you come for a consultation, we’ll be able to decide on the best course of treatment for you and what to fully expect. Numbing is available too for your comfort.

DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING BEFORE I HAVE TREATMENT?

Before having any Blemish Removal, we would provide the following advice:

  • Avoid using retinols, exfoliants, serums or creams that maybe drying or irritating to the skin, this includes salicylic acids and benzoyl peroxides. If these type of products are within your normal skincare routine discontinue use at least 5-7 days prior to your appointment.

  • Avoid any aggressive skin treatments before your treatment, including Accutane (for at least 6 months)

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure, sunburn or sunbeds for at least 2 weeks before treatment.

  • Drink plenty of water on the day of your treatment, stay hydrated, your skin will recover quicker.

  • Before arriving for your treatment make sure you have eaten.

  • Stop wearing fake tanning products at least 2 weeks before your treatment.

  • If you regularly wax, you must have waited at least 7 days since the last wax on the treatment area as to not irritate the skin.

  • If you regularly shave, you can shave on the day before treatment but only if it’s an area you would normally shave.

  • Stop taking supplements such as Vitamin E or fish oils before treatment but only if they are not prescribed by a GP.

  • Anti-inflammatories can act as blood thinner, causing bruising and should be stopped 4 days before treatment, if you’re taking these because they’re are prescribed, please consulate your GP before stopping.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT, ARE THE RESULTS INSTANT?

Straight after treatment you can expect the following:

  • Redness, swelling and sensitivity of the skin in the area which has been treated up to 48 hours

  • The treated area and surrounding skin may feel hot for up to 48 hours

  • Small scabs may appear within the treated area

  • The skin may itch as the healing process takes place

Depending on the issue we have targeted depends on the results, things such as skin tags may be removed instantly but had a small scab and begin the healing process. Some people can achieve some major improvements in up to a month after treatment. Some conditions will require continued treatments  to deliver the best results possible.

We recommend the application of our Aloe Vera Gel daily which is available to purchase in the salon at your appointment or you can buy this HERE

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY BLEMISH IS OK TO BE REMOVED OR IF I SHOULD BE CONCERNED?

We see hundreds of blemishes and lesions every week, so we are pretty familiar with treating all types of concerns. However what we will not do is treat any concern that we are not 100% happy to treat. This is why we always recommend a free consultation prior to treating.

Both Zoe and Kelsey take annual training in the detection of early skin cancer and melanoma. Even though we have the most extensive knowledge we will never diagnose or tell you the conditions we may feel you have but we will refer you professionally and confidently to a GP/Dermatologist for further investigating.

Treating any blemishes without the extensive knowledge that we have with our many years of learning the anatomy and skin inside out is highly discouraged. We will perform a full consultation before treating any concern and if we feel we need a second opinion we will require you to bring along a note for approval from your GP or Dermatologist. The NHS will no longer remove cosmetic lesions and private clinics can cost thousands. However we guarantee you are in the safest of hands with our team and we have your very best interests at heart.
